Anine Cecilie Iversen is an artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark, also known as La Poire. She is a self taught painter and was introduced very early to watercolours by her dad, an art teacher. Growing up in a creative environment and always being oriented towards visual aesthetics, she continued the creative path and eventually received a degree in digital concept development from KEA (CPH Business Academy), which led her to work as a graphic designer within creative and corporate spaces. However, in the recent years she felt a need to pursue and develop her artistic practice and love for painting by hand, and became a full time artist.
Being fascinated by the perishable and ever changing, her work is a study in contrasting, vibrant colours, bold silhouettes, femininity and organic shapes. She takes inspiration from modern art, fashion, botanics, and finding nuances in aspects of colours, lights, inner feelings and thoughts. Her paintings of women seek to explore both the vulnerability and grace of the modern, fashionable human being.
